Scanning stock
Move and count stock at the shelf with a scanner, without a keyboard.
Updated 23 September 2026
- Why
- A stores person has a scanner in one hand and stock in the other.
- What
- The Scan station's Stock panel takes a location code, then an item code, and records a move or a count.
- How
- Open
/app/scan, scan the shelf, scan the item and choose Record.
Move or count
- Step 1.
At
/app/scan, scan the shelf into Location code. It stays held for the next item. - Step 2.
Scan the item into Item code or SKU and set the Quantity.
- Step 3.
Choose Move here or Count, then Record.
| Action | Writes |
|---|---|
| Move here | A Transfer into the scanned location from wherever the item is now. |
| Count | An Adjustment that sets the balance here to what you found. |
The item code can be a SKU or a lot code, such as one minted at goods in. The location code is the Scannable code set on the location.
Who can scan
- A member of operator rank or above, signed in as themselves.
- A station signed in with its device key. A station bound to a location may move stock only there.
The Stock panel appears only with the Stock product on; the trace scans on the same screen work without it. Stock moves need a connection and are not queued offline.
