Access codes and invite links
Give a customer's people a sign in, and take it away again.
Updated 23 September 2026
- Why
- A code is the only way in, so nobody reaches a customer's records by guessing an address.
- What
- One active code per customer record, which links every person who redeems it to that customer.
- How
- Open the customer record's Access tab, create a code and send the invitation.
Invite a customer
- Step 1.
Open the customer at
/app/customers/[id]and choose the Access tab. - Step 2.
Set a Label, Expires and Maximum accounts if you want limits, then choose Create access code.
- Step 3.
Choose Send invitation and pick the contact under Send to, or copy the Invite link or the code itself and read it down the phone.
The invite link applies the code for them: they sign up with Google, Microsoft or email and never see a code field. Anyone else enters the code after signing in.
Change or end access
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Rotate | The old code stops working. People already signed in stay signed in. |
| Revoke | Nobody new can join until a new code is created. |
| Remove (on a person) | That person's sign in ends at once. They can join again with a valid code. |
Old codes are kept under Previous codes. People signed in lists who joined, how and when they were last seen; a website account that joined is marked Storefront account.
Members at Sales and above manage codes. A wrong code always reads "That code is not valid.", and repeated failures are refused for a while.
The access code on Ashworth Aerospace Ltd's record, its invite link, and the person who joined with it, marked as an account from the website.
