Sending a request

Send a customer enquiry to the AI area as text, a file or a paste and get a structured answer back.

On this page
Why
An enquiry arrives in whatever form the customer had to hand, and retyping it is where figures change.
What
The one AI input at /app reads it as it arrived and returns the lines, the matches and a draft.
How
Pick what you are sending, paste or attach it and send.

Send one

  1. Step 1.

Open /app, the one AI input in the platform.

  2. Step 2.

Choose what your customer sent: Request (an enquiry to price, an RFQ or a drawing), Order (a purchase order to raise) or Question (answered with its sources). There is no automatic mode.

  3. Step 3.

Optionally pin a customer with the customer chip, so the answer uses what you know about them, such as their order history. See Customer context.

  4. Step 4.

Type or paste the enquiry, attach files or drop them anywhere on the conversation, then press Send message.

The Kabaido request box with a customer's emailed request for quotation pasted in: ten carbide end mills, five ball nose cutters, twenty square end mills and four collets, sent to be read line by line.

Send, and every line is read

What you can attach

FileHow it is read
PDFText pages as text; scanned pages by vision.
PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIFBy vision, as a drawing or a photograph.
XLSX, XLS, CSVAs a table, cell by cell.
DOCX, TXT, MarkdownAs text.
EML, Outlook MSGAs the email, with the documents inside it read too.
DXFAs a measured summary: extents, layers and the text on the drawing. A long drawing is cut short and the summary says so.

The upload limit is 4 MB per file. Split a larger document or send the relevant pages on their own.

3D models (STEP, IGES, SLDPRT, STL and similar) cannot be attached: Kabaido reads 2D drawings. Export a DXF or a PDF drawing, or state the sizes in the message. One arriving by email is skipped with a note saying why.

Scanned pages are read up to a cap per request, lower on the free plan than on a paid one. Pages past the cap are skipped with a warning, never dropped silently.

The usage bar

A thin bar sits at the top right of the input. Hover, focus or tap it to see how much of the month is used, the daily budget if one is set and the reset date. See Usage and what draws on it.

Other ways a request arrives

  • A connected inbox: the email agent turns detected enquiries into requests.
  • An inbound endpoint any system can post enquiry text to.
  • The REST API: POST /api/v1/requests.
  • An AI assistant over MCP, where create_request opens a thread your team sees.

Every one lands as a chat under Recents in the menu. It works before you import anything: with no catalogue you still get the structured lines back, and matching switches on once your products are in.
