Special prices and customer discounts
Give one customer an agreed price on a product, a category or a schema, or a discount on everything they buy.
Updated 23 September 2026
- Why
- A special price is about who is buying: the terms agreed with one account.
- What
- A special price is a percentage discount or a fixed price for one customer, on one scope, with optional dates.
- How
- Set it on the customer's record or on the Pricing view of the catalogue; both are for admins and owners.
Set one on the customer
- Step 1.
Open the customer at
/app/customersand choose the Special pricing tab. - Step 2.
Pick the Scope and what it Applies to, then the Kind: % discount or Fixed price.
- Step 3.
Enter the Percent off or the Price, and Starts and Ends if it has dates. The example line shows the effect on a base price before you choose Add.
The same rows appear on /app/catalog?tab=pricing under Special prices, where New special price starts with the Customer.
Scopes
| Scope | Covers |
|---|---|
| Product | One catalogue product. |
| Category | Every product with that category. |
| Schema | Every product on that schema. |
| Service | Lines for one service; percentage only. |
| Whole customer | Every product, design and service line for the customer; percentage only, set from the customer record. |
The most specific scope that fits a line wins, so a product price beats a category discount, and a whole customer discount applies only where nothing narrower does. A Configurator special reaches no line today: a design line takes only the whole customer discount.
With quantity breaks
A special price is about who; a quantity rule is about how many. A percentage special and a break stack, special first. A fixed special price ends the chain.
Removing a special price never changes a quote already priced with it. New lines for that customer go back to the standard price.
