The right kind of tool, whatever the spelling

1.44.23

A request for one kind of tool is answered with that kind, even when the word for it is misspelt or written without its umlaut.

Updated 26 October 2026

A misspelt tool name or a German word written with ae, oe or ue now reaches the same knowledge as the correct spelling. When a request names an end mill, a drill, a reamer, a tap or a countersink, products of another kind are no longer offered in its place, and where the catalogue holds none of the kind asked for, the reply says so and asks.
