A special priced from your words, with its job read

A special whose sizes were all stated could come back asking about a size it had already read, with the price held. Only the customer's own words are checked for an unplaced size now, so the design is priced and carried to the quote.

When the request names the workpiece on another line, as in "Einsatz: Schlichten von Rippen in Inconel 718", the design reads it, so the selector chooses flutes, helix and coating for that material. A material the line itself states is never replaced.
