Design Engineer turns a custom enquiry into a configured, priced and drawn product.
It can configure the part in 3D, price it on your real costs, produce the model and drawing files and put the whole thing on a quote. Change a parameter and the geometry, the price, the cost and the lead time move with it.
Give your customers a bespoke answer in minutes rather than days, with a drawing to approve and a price that stands up.
Anyone in the sales office can drive it, or the AI can, from the customer's own words and the drawing they attached.
Design modules cover soft jaws, gaskets, plastics cut to size, balustrades, PCD saw blades and PCD profile cutters. New ones are built to order for what you make.

In more detail
A CAD workbench where each design module carries its own parameters, geometry, rules and price lines. The output is a 3D model, a specification PDF, production files and a designed product the Sales Engineer can put on a quote. Checks stop an impossible combination before anything is exported. Stock lines are held per design module with whether each needs preparing, and a counted line is written to the same stock ledger the Stock product shows.

It adds to Stock when the product that brings that area is on too.
Works with Stock and Commerce. Nothing is a prerequisite: each pair only adds to the other.
Switching it on and off
Switch it on in Settings then Products, on any plan. It brings the Design workbench with your design modules, custom lines on quotes and orders, and the AI configuring a part from the customer's own words.
Switched off: Saved designs stay readable and every quote that carries one is unchanged. No new design can be configured until it is switched on again.

Two ways to drive it
- By hand: open
/app/designand change a parameter. Configuring by hand draws no usage. - By the AI: in the AI interface at
/app, a request line that reads as work to be made is configured in the design module that fits it, priced and drawn inside the answer. Open in the workbench takes the result to/app/design. On a line read as made to specification, Design this line opens a design conversation under that line.
