PCD shank tools take the inputs buyers specify

1.34.22

Set the hand, the cut direction, a compression router's up cut length, the shank clamping length, both clearances and a corner radius, and the drawing states them as a buyer reads them.

Updated 22 October 2026

A compression router now cuts up to its up cut length (lpos) and down above it, as the makers build them, and the drawing gives the minimum depth of cut. The shank clamping length is checked against the EN 847-2 minimum, and a g6 shank joins h6 and h5.

The solid's sections are clean curves: the rake wall on the plate's face, a radiused floor, a relieved land and a run out that stays clear of the clamp. A left hand tool is drawn as its mirror, and the drawing reads Z as cutting and plunge, Z 2+1.
