On this page
- Why
- A board shows where every item is but never which one to pick up next.
- What
- The Work view ranks every open item and puts the one action that moves it on the row.
- How
- Open
/app/servicing, work down What needs doing and inspect from the item.
The Work view
| Block | What it shows |
|---|---|
| What needs doing | Every open item, ranked, with its reason in words and its next action. |
| The status strip | Counts per status. Choose one to filter the registry to that stage. |
| Jobs in progress | Open service orders with their station, promise and forecast. |
| Stations | The queue at each station in minutes against its capacity. |
How the ranking works
- Past the date promised back, most overdue first.
- Due within three days, soonest first.
- Everything else, longest waiting first.
Inside a band, work nearest to going out ranks higher: finished but not sent back comes first. An item with no due date sits in the last band; a due date comes from the service's Turnaround when the item is booked in.
Inspect an item
- Step 1.
Choose Inspect on the row, then Record inspection.
- Step 2.
The form is pre filled from what was quoted. Correct it against the real item.
- Step 3.
Choose Recalculate. The service's own formula prices what was measured.
When the price moves
On a service marked Subject to inspection, a new price further from the quoted one than Inspection approval delta (%) in Settings then Organisation goes to Awaiting approval.
- The customer contact is emailed a table of old against new, with a link to the quote portal.
- They approve or decline there. Approve moves the item to In service; decline sends it back.
- Copy the approval link resends it by hand.
Inside the threshold the new price stands and the item goes straight to In service.
Reject
Reject item takes a reason (Cracked, Undersize, Not economical or Other), a note and an optional photo. The customer is notified; the item's line on a draft quote is voided, and a line on a quote already sent is marked rejected.
Every move writes an event with who made it, so an approval, a rejection or an override can always be traced afterwards.
