Sales Engineer

On this page
Sales Engineer answers the technical customer request, from the enquiry arriving to the quote or order going back.
It can read a request for quotation or a drawing, work out what the customer needs, match it against your catalogue, price it on your real costs and draft the branded reply on the original thread. With your customer's context and the engineering behind what you sell built into every answer.
Give your customers a considered answer within the hour, at any hour, and a quote that holds up when their engineer reads it.
When something is missing it asks a clarifying question and cites what it found, rather than guessing a specification.
Connect Gmail or Microsoft 365 and it works where your customers already write to you.

In more detail
Sales Engineer reads a request typed, pasted or attached in the AI area, or arriving in a connected inbox, and sets out what the customer asked for with a source span behind every attribute. It matches each line to your catalogue records, prices it on your price list, special prices and quantity breaks, and drafts the quote or order. Through the email agent it classifies inbound mail as a request for quotation, a purchase order, a technical question or none, and drafts a branded reply threaded on the original message; review mode is the default, so every draft goes to an internal address until the organisation decides otherwise. It reaches what else the workspace has switched on, so a servicing line or a custom design comes into the same answer.
Where it lives
| Area | Where | Kind |
|---|---|---|
| Quotes | /app/quotes | an area in the menu |
| Orders | /app/orders | an area in the menu |
| Catalogue | /app/catalog | an area in the menu |
Switching it on and off
Switch it on in Settings then Products, on any plan. It brings Quotes, Orders and the Catalogue, with the AI reading requests, matching your catalogue and drafting the reply on the original thread.
Switched off: Your quotes, orders and catalogue stay exactly as they are and stay readable. Nothing new can be quoted from the catalogue until it is switched on again.

Two rules it keeps
- Cite or abstain. Every value carries the span of the request it was read from. A specification, tolerance, price or part number is never invented; a missing one becomes a question.
- The numbers are calculated. Fit scores, match bands and prices come from your schema, your catalogue and your pricing rules, so the same structured line against the same catalogue scores the same every time.
