Meeting transcripts

Meetings held in Kabaido Meet write their own transcript, with everyone in the call told.

20 August 2026. A meeting you hold in Kabaido Meet now writes its own transcript: speaker by speaker, in the order things were actually said, searchable afterwards and attached to the company and the person it was with.

What happens

  • The audio is captured in the host's browser, one recording per person, which is why every line carries the right name without any guesswork.
  • It is transcribed on Kabaido's own hardware by an open source speech model that runs offline. Nothing is sent to an AI provider, there is no summary and no analysis, and nothing is used to train a model.
  • The audio is deleted as soon as the transcript is written, usually within minutes of the meeting ending.

Telling people

Recording someone without telling them is not acceptable and in the UK it is not lawful, so the notice appears three times: in the invitation email, on the screen before anyone joins, and as a state that stays visible to every participant for the whole time it is running. The host can stop it at any moment, and stopping takes effect immediately.

  • A meeting can be switched out of transcription entirely, before it starts or during it.
  • Meetings held before 20 August were never recorded, so they have no transcript and never will.
  • Documented on Kabaido Meet.
