Proof of delivery
Know what proof a delivery carries, where it is recorded and what your customer sees of it.

- Why
- "Where is my order" and "we never received it" are answered by proof, not by a status.
- What
- Proof is the signature, the printed name, any photographs and the trail around them: the time, the place, the device and who was signed in.
- How
- It is written on the delivery's trace event in the same step as the delivered state, so the state never exists without it.
What is recorded

The office drawer's Delivered asks for who took it and how much arrived, with no signature. Only a workspace that allows unsigned deliveries can record one there. That is off by default with no switch in Settings yet, so ask through Getting help; until then a delivery is signed on the driver station.
A drawn signature is an electronic signature. What stands behind it is the trail, and Kabaido claims no more legal weight for it than that.
Where you see it
- In the delivery drawer at
/app/route, under Proof of delivery. - With Commerce on, your signed in customer sees the signature, the name and the time on their own delivery. Photographs are not shown to them.
