Clarifications
Answer what a request left out, see what was assumed, and have the line resolved again.
Updated 23 September 2026
- Why
- A silent default reads as confident, nobody re-checks it and the customer finds the mistake.
- What
- Kabaido leaves a missing value empty and asks, on the line it belongs to.
- How
- Answer on the line or in the composer, and the line is resolved again with your answer.
A vague request read without guessing: 2 lines with the quantity marked missing, only what was written cited, and 6 clarifying questions asked instead.
Answer one
- Step 1.
Find the Not stated list on the line, or the Clarification card in the answer.
- Step 2.
Press Fill these in (Fill this in for one) and answer what you know. Anything left blank stays open.
- Step 3.
Press Send answers or Resolve this line again, or simply reply in the composer.
You can answer for the customer: the buyer said it on the phone, or it is obvious from their last order. What matters is that the answer is recorded rather than guessed.
What is assumed, and how you see it
Where your order history, the customer's details or a published engineering norm settles a parameter, Kabaido fills it and marks it assumed with the basis it stood on. A quantity nobody stated is set to one off so the line can be priced.
- An assumed value shows as a dashed amber chip and is listed again at the end of the answer.
- Press the chip to change the value, or Ask me instead to turn it back into a question.
- A specification, tolerance, price or part number is never assumed. A missing one is always a question.
When to leave one open
A clarification is not a blocker. The line stays on the card with everything that was stated, and on the draft it is marked Needs information. You can create the quote and price that line by hand.
Your answers merge into the same request and the result is added to the thread as new cards; the earlier cards are never rewritten.
