Machines and stations

Why

The operator works from the screen at the machine, so the machine has to be something that screen can sign in as.

What

Every machine is a station with its own device key, its available minutes and its hourly rate.

How

Add it in /app/machinist/machines, then sign the screen at the machine in with the key.

Add a machine

   Open /app/machinist/machines and choose Add machine (administrators and owners).

   Fill Machine name and pick the Machine module that raises its work, or none.

   Set Available minutes a day, which the schedule plans against, and Rate an hour, in pence, which costs its time. Choose Add.

   Write the device key down: it is shown once. Issue a new key later signs the old screen out.

A machine tied to a machine module also appears on that machine module's own Setup view.

The screen at the machine

Open /station on the machine's screen and enter the Device key. The screen shows that machine's queue and the job on it now, and nothing else. A member who holds the machine among their stations, or an administrator, can open /app/machinist/station under their own sign in or pick the machine from Stations in the menu.

Stations and your plan

Stations are counted per workspace, across every station kind: a servicing bench and a delivery van count too. Add machine is disabled at the allowance, and reaching it never stops a screen already running.
