Reorder points and monitors

Why

Running out is found too late when someone has to notice it.

What

A line at or under its reorder point shows on the Reorder view, and the stock monitors watch for low stock on a schedule.

How

Set the point in the line's drawer, then add a monitor from Monitors in /app/stock.

Set a reorder point

   In /app/stock, open the line.

   Enter the Reorder point and, if you like, the Reorder quantity.

   Choose Save reorder point.

The Reorder view

Reorder lists every line at or under its point, with a Suggested quantity: the reorder quantity (or the gap to the point) less what is on order. Export takes the list.

With Source on, Build a shortage list takes every row to a request for quotes. Tick rows and it becomes Request quotes, beside Raise a purchase order. See requests for quotation at scale and purchase orders.

The stock monitors

Choose Monitors at the top of /app/stock, pick one under Add a monitor, fill it in and choose Add it. A fired monitor tells the team in Activity, once a day per line. Creating one needs the engineer role or above.
