A form cutter from your DXF

1.13.8

Send a form cutter enquiry with its DXF and the tool opens in the design module ground to the file, drawn and priced.

Updated 8 October 2026

Attach the DXF of a form cutter's section to an endmill enquiry and the form, the cutting diameter and the length of cut are taken from the file, each marked From the DXF. The flutes, helix, coating and coolant blank are chosen for the material from published data, and the tool is drawn and priced on your own rates. No AI reads the file, and it works in a workspace that also holds a catalogue.

Arcs in an imported DXF are now drawn exactly as the file defines them, and a drawn profile keeps its dimensions to the micron. Saving or exporting a design from an AI answer keeps a drawn form.

Requests are now read by Claude Haiku 5.5, a newer and faster model, with harder requests still passed to Claude Sonnet 5.5.
