Quotes and orders from a request
Turn a reviewed request into a real quote or order, with its lines, prices and customer carried across.

On this page
- Why
- Retyping a request into a quote is where a figure changes and nobody notices.
- What
- The answer ends in a Quote draft or an Order draft card that creates the real record.
- How
- Check the draft, then press Create quote or Create order.
A customer's enquiry with a request for quotation and a drawing attached becomes a matched line, then a priced quote draft grouped into products, configured work and servicing, then a quote.
One click makes it a quote
Create a quote
- Step 1.
Send the enquiry in Request mode at
/app. - Step 2.
Read the Quote draft: each line is marked Ready or Needs information, with its unit price and quantity.
- Step 3.
Check the customer on the card, then press Create quote. The quote opens in
/app/quotesand the thread links to it.
What carries across
- The description, quantity and unit of each line.
- The matched product, the configured design or the service.
- The unit price from your own rules: the price list, special prices and breaks for that customer on a catalogue line, your rates on a designed line and your service book on a service. It is never a figure the AI produced.
- The customer, and a link from the quote back to the request.
Lines that are not ready
A line with an open question, no match or no price comes across as an unpriced Manual line to finish in the editor. A line whose quantity reads not stated is left out of the draft's total, and comes across the same way with its description saying so; a quantity assumed as one off is priced and marked assumed. A service line the service rejected is left off. Nothing is filled in to close the gap.
Create an order
- Step 1.
Send the purchase order in Order mode. Lines are matched and checked against the quote they came from, shown as From quote.
- Step 2.
Where quantities or assumed values were not stated, tick the confirmation on the card.
- Step 3.
Press Create order. It opens in
/app/orders.
Created records are added to the thread, never written over it, so the conversation stays as the record of how the quote or order was reached.
