Questions
The questions industrial suppliers ask
The cross-cutting questions suppliers, distributors and stockists accumulate: data handling, missing specifications, scale, import and what each module costs. Each answer restates a fact published elsewhere on the site and links to the page that owns it.

Open a question to read the answer. Every figure here already appears on a module, security or pricing page.
- No. There is no training on customer data, and the AI provider is configured for zero retention. Commercial data is competitive data, so it stays yours. The posture is set out on the security page and in the data processing agreement.
- It abstains and asks. When a request does not state a value, Kabaido does not guess one. The line carries a clarification instead, and every value it does extract points back to the customer's own words. You can see both the cited and the abstaining state on the AEI page.
- Your primary data and file storage reside in the United Kingdom region of our infrastructure providers. The sub-processors that touch your data are named in the data processing agreement, with the full posture on the security page.
- It still returns a structured specification table of exactly what your customer asked for, with units normalised, abbreviations expanded and ambiguities flagged. Matching and pricing switch on once you import your products. You can try this on the send an RFQ flow before importing a single product.
- Fifty products or a million, the experience is the same: schema-based data, fast faceted search and search engineered to a p95 under 300ms target at 100,000 rows. Catalogue limits run from 100 products on Free to 1,000,000 on Max. The detail is on the catalogue page.
- Upload a CSV or spreadsheet, map the headers onto your schema, read a type report and run. The ingest is resumable: rows land in 1,000-row batches with the cursor saved per batch, so a stopped million-row import picks up where it left off rather than starting again. The full wizard walkthrough is on the catalogue page.
- Every plan includes an amount of AI usage a month. It is drawn on by the work the AI does: reading an enquiry, extracting the specification, matching it against your catalogue, configuring a custom product, drafting a reply. Heavier work draws more. Browsing, manual quoting and your own configurator runs are never metered, because usage meters the AI, not your people. The worked examples are on the pricing page.
- Every row is organisation-scoped with database-enforced row level security, so the filter lives in the database itself rather than in application code that has to remember to add it. Storage is tenant-prefixed, data is encrypted with TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest, and you can take a full export or request deletion at any time. ISO 27001 and SOC 2 programmes are on the roadmap; the practices we run today are stated plainly on the security page.
- Connect an AI assistant over MCP, script the v1 REST API, receive signed webhooks and post requests in through tokenised endpoints. Each provider is labelled by what it is today: native, a template you finish with your own credentials, via automation through Zapier, Make or n8n, or roadmap. The labelled list is on the integrations page.
- Yes. Connect Gmail or Microsoft 365 and the Sales Engineer reads new mail as it arrives, turns detected enquiries and orders into requests and drafts the branded reply threaded on the original message. Review mode is the default, so every draft goes to an address you choose until you trust it to reply directly. Reading and classifying email never draws on your usage. The detail is in the email agent section of the Sales Engineer page.
- Every plan includes all five modules. Where we build something for you it is priced separately and quoted per project: a Kabaido Commerce website typically £6,500 to £12,500 depending on complexity, a custom Design Engineer module, a custom selector wizard, and Machinist custom builds and licences. The only other line is an extra machine screen. It is all set out on the pricing page.
- Yes. The Data Processing Addendum is published in full at /legal/dpa and forms part of the Terms of Service, so it already applies to your account. If your procurement process needs a countersigned copy, email hello@kabaido.com and we will send one. The sub-processors, the transfer safeguards and the breach and deletion commitments are all on that page.
- Not a numeric one. We work to keep the service available and to fix faults promptly, and we give reasonable notice of planned maintenance, but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee unless a separate Enterprise agreement states one. That is set out in the Terms of Service. We do not publish an uptime percentage because we do not yet measure one we would ask you to rely on; a public status page and an uptime target for Enterprise agreements are on the roadmap, stated plainly rather than implied.
- No. Monthly plans run month to month and you can cancel at any time; annual billing runs for the year you have paid for. An upgrade is prorated immediately, so you pay only for the time left in the period. A downgrade takes effect straight away with no mid-cycle charge and no refund of the period you have already paid for. On cancellation you keep the ability to export everything as CSV and we delete your data on request. The cancellation and export terms are in the Terms of Service, and the plan figures are on the pricing page.
- Yes. Pick a slot from our real availability and a 30 minute video call is booked, with a calendar invitation and a meeting link that opens in the browser with no account and no download. Book from the contact page, or write to hello@kabaido.com and a human replies, usually within one working day.
- Wizard is a platform area of deterministic product selectors: interactive engineering forms that compute the right specification from published engineering data and match your own catalogue against it, with no AI in the loop. Running wizards in the platform is free with any Kabaido account and never draws on your usage; the free plan includes 10 runs a month and paid plans are uncapped. A wizard on your own website is part of a Kabaido Commerce website: the Kabaido team builds it into your pages during the website build, so there is no separate line to buy. Three presets are live today: the bandsaw blade wizard, the PCD saw blade selector and the coating and treatment selector, shown on the Wizard page.
- Inspect is industrial customer intelligence for field sales: every manufacturer in a mapped region profiled from public evidence, then the three of your offerings that site's evidence supports, the questions worth asking and who to speak to. It is included with every plan, and the plan sets how many company profiles you can open a month: 5 on Free, 100 on Pro, 500 on Ultra and 1000 on Max. Browsing the map, the list and your own lists costs nothing. Which regions are active is agreed with us. The detail is on the Inspect page.
