Machinist
Working screens at the machine.
Custom machine interfaces and MES-like systems installed on a screen at the machine, online or offline. Built for manufacturers, licensed to machine builders.
The first preset
Arcline, the CNC plasma and sheet metal fabrication interface
Arcline is the Machinist preset for CNC plasma cutting and sheet metal fabrication. Parts are drawn and edited in its CAD editor, sheets and remnants are tracked as stock and cut orders pull the two together.
The nest is true shape: parts rotate and interlock to use the sheet, the cut runs as a simulation before anything moves and the result exports as G-code and DXF.
Arcline runs online in the platform at /app/machinist/arcline and is included on every plan.
- Parts and CAD editing
- Draw and edit parts in the built-in CAD editor and keep them in a parts library ready for the next order.
- Sheet and remnant stock
- Full sheets and the usable remnants they leave are both tracked as stock and both available to nest on.
- Cut orders
- Work arrives as cut orders: which parts, how many and on what material, ready to nest.
- True-shape nesting, simulation and export
- Parts nest true shape on the chosen sheet, the cut runs as a simulation on screen and the result exports as G-code and DXF.
Two ways to buy
On your plan, or under licence
As a platform module
Manufacturers run presets on a screen attachment at the machine. The screen runs online against your Kabaido account, so parts, stock and cut orders live beside your quotes and orders. Presets are included in every plan; the number of connected screens depends on the tier.
Under special licence or handover
Machine manufacturers take a preset or a custom build under special licence, or a full handover custom build that runs locally without the Kabaido platform. Scoped and priced per project, POA.
Plan usage
What each plan carries
All figures are modelled and will be revisited against measured usage.
| Machinist usage | Free | Starter | Growth | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Presets available | All | All | All | All |
| Machine screens connected | 1 | 2 | 5 | 15 |
| AI features: nesting assist and parameter suggestions | Via credits | Via credits | Via credits | Via credits |
Caps enforce softly: at the cap the action explains the limit and offers the upgrade. A running machine screen is never disabled mid-job. Custom interfaces and additional screens beyond Scale are POA.
Online and offline
The offline story, honestly
The platform version runs online; local installs are built per project. A Machinist screen on your plan is a window on your Kabaido account, so it needs a connection, and in return your parts, stock and cut orders live in the same platform as your sales.
Where a machine has to run without the platform, that is a licence or handover build: scoped per project, installed locally and priced POA.
A machine that needs its own interface
Custom interfaces are scoped per project: what the machine does, what the operator needs on screen and where the data goes. Tell us about the machine and we will tell you what we would build.
Questions
About Machinist
- What is Arcline?
- Arcline is the CNC plasma and sheet metal fabrication interface and the first Machinist preset: parts and CAD editing, sheet and remnant stock, cut orders and true-shape nesting with simulation and G-code and DXF export. It runs online in the platform and is included on every plan.
- Does Machinist work offline?
- The platform version runs online; local installs are built per project. A machine that must run without the platform takes a special licence or full handover build, scoped per project and POA.
- How many machine screens can we connect?
- One on Free, two on Starter, five on Growth and fifteen on Scale. These figures are modelled and will be revisited against measured usage. Additional screens beyond Scale are POA. Caps enforce softly with an upgrade path and never disable a running machine screen mid-job.
- What do the AI features cost?
- AI actions such as nesting assist and parameter suggestions consume credits from your plan's allowance. Manual use at the screen is never metered.
- Can you build an interface for our machine?
- Yes, that is the point of the module. Custom machine interfaces and MES-like systems are scoped and built per project, POA. Send a message or book a meeting and tell us about the machine.
